Absolute Black Granite is the benchmark against which every other black stone is measured. Its surface is a pure, uninterrupted jet black — no visible veining, no tonal variation, no competing mineral pattern — just a deep, consistent field of black that polishes to a mirror finish capable of reflecting the room around it. Quarried across Chamrajanagar in Karnataka and Warangal and Khammam in Andhra Pradesh, Absolute Black is India’s most exported black granite and one of the most consistently traded natural stones in the world. Also traded as Negro Absolute, it owes its uniform colour to a specific mineralogical composition — hornblende, pyroxene, and dark mica — with virtually no feldspar or quartz to interrupt the black. This geological consistency sets it apart from all other dark granites, which typically show grey or silver mineral flecks. India is the world’s largest exporter of black granite, and Absolute Black Granite sits at the top of that export catalogue, in demand from the USA, UK, UAE, Australia, South Korea, and over 60 other countries.

It has among the lowest absorption of any granite, so it resists staining well and needs sealing far less often than lighter stones. The bigger care point is that polished black shows fingerprints and water spots; a leathered finish hides them better.
