Flash Blue Granite

Flash Blue Granite is one of India’s most internationally recognised blue granites — a stone whose deep, grayish-blue base studded with flashes of light grey, white, and brown mineral speckles, creating the distinctive impression of light “flashing” across the surface. It is this quality — simultaneously dark and luminous, cool and dynamic — that has made Flash Blue one of the most consistently exported granites from the Indian subcontinent to markets across the USA, UK, Europe, Australia, and the Middle East.

Origin & What Makes It Unique

Flash Blue Granite is quarried primarily from Singupuram in the Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh, South India — a region celebrated for producing some of India’s finest blue-toned stones. It is also known in the international market as Srikakulam Blue Granite, Kingfisher Blue Granite, Crystal Blue Granite, and Diamond Blue Granite. The stone’s distinctive blue colouration is produced by the presence of hornblende, biotite, and blue-toned feldspar minerals within the igneous matrix, while the characteristic light-grey and white speckles result from contrasting feldspar crystal formations distributed evenly across the dark base. The effect is a stone that reads as deep blue-grey at distance but reveals considerable mineral complexity up close. Flash Blue has the largest sales share among India’s exported blue granites and is a consistent bestseller in European and North American markets.

  • Flooring: One of the most specified blue granite floors globally. The stone’s hardness and low water absorption make it exceptionally practical for both residential and commercial high-traffic flooring applications.
  • Feature & Accent Walls: The stone’s dynamic speckled surface creates visually complex feature walls in living rooms, hotel lobbies, and commercial environments without the maintenance demands of marble.
  • Exterior Applications: Flamed and bush-hammered finishes make Flash Blue suitable for outdoor paving, facade cladding, steps, and pool surrounds. It performs reliably in all climates including freezing temperatures.
  • Monuments & Commercial: Its durability and striking appearance make it a popular choice for memorial applications, reception desks, and commercial feature installations globally.
