Origin and Composition

Raj Green Sandstone is a sedimentary stone quarried in Rajasthan, India. Its green colour — which ranges from olive and sage to deeper forest green — arises from the presence of chlorite minerals and green-toned mineral deposits within the quartz matrix. The stone’s grain structure is fine to medium, producing a surface that responds well to both natural split and honed finishes.

Like other Rajasthani sandstones, Raj Green is weather-resistant and durable under outdoor conditions, with good frost tolerance and resistance to moisture penetration.
