The stone

Bright white with blue-grey patches and copper veins

Our Calacatta lot has a bright white base broken by patches of blue-grey and fine veins in copper and rose. It is a bolder stone than Statuario: the colour sits in clusters and drifts rather than a fine even web.

Calacatta is quarried in the same Carrara area as Statuario and is one of the most sought-after Italian marbles. It is best used where it can be seen in full slabs: a feature wall, a kitchen island or a living-room floor.

Premium Calacatta grades, with whiter bases and stronger veining, are available on request.

Calacatta Gold

Calacatta Gold: warm cream with gold-beige veining

Calacatta Gold has a warm cream base with a web of gold-beige veins. It is softer and warmer than our white Calacatta, and pairs well with wood, brass and warm lighting.

It is priced with Calacatta, from ₹800/sq ft, with premium grades on request. Ask for Calacatta Gold lot photos on WhatsApp to compare the two side by side.

Applications

Where Calacatta marble works

Flooring

Statement floors in living rooms and lobbies. Seal after laying and keep grit off the polish.

Walls

Book-matched Calacatta on a feature wall or behind a bed is where the veining earns its price.

Kitchen

A popular island stone, but it etches with acids. Seal it and wipe spills quickly.

Bathroom

Vanity tops and full-height walls. Calacatta Gold warms up a white bathroom.

Staircase

Choose slabs from one lot so the veining flows from tread to tread.

Buying advice

How to check your Calacatta is genuine

Ask for the import papers

Every genuine Italian lot arrives with import papers. Ask to see them for the exact lot you are buying, not a sample.

Look at the whole lot

Natural veining changes from slab to slab. Printed tiles and engineered copies repeat the same pattern; real marble never does.

Choose the actual slabs

Buy from slabs you have seen, at the yard or in lot photos of the real lot, not from a catalogue picture or a single sample tile.

Import papers are available for every lot on request.

Questions

Calacatta Marble: questions

What is the price of Calacatta marble?

Calacatta and Calacatta Gold both start at ₹800/sq ft at our Kishangarh yard, with premium grades on request. Prices are ex-yard Kishangarh, plus GST. Freight is quoted separately.

What is the difference between Calacatta and Calacatta Gold?

Our Calacatta is bright white with blue-grey patches and copper-rose veins. Calacatta Gold has a warmer cream base with a web of gold-beige veins, so it suits warmer interiors and brass or wood finishes.

Is Calacatta the same as Statuario?

No. Both come from the Carrara area, but our Statuario has a bright white base with a fine web of grey veins, while Calacatta has bolder patches and coloured veining. Statuario starts at ₹700/sq ft, Calacatta at ₹800.

Is Calacatta marble good for kitchen tops?

It looks superb on an island, but like all marble it etches with lemon juice, vinegar and other acids. Seal it, use boards and wipe spills quickly.

Can I see the actual Calacatta slabs?

Yes. Visit our Kishangarh yard by appointment, or ask on WhatsApp for today's lot photos of Calacatta and Calacatta Gold.
