Volga Blue Granite is a deep, midnight-toned natural stone distinguished by its dark blue-to-black base scattered with luminous blue crystal flashes. The labradorescent shimmer comes from labradorite feldspar embedded throughout the stone, catching light to produce intense blue reflections that shift with viewing angle. Volga Blue is one of the most celebrated decorative granites in the world, prized for its dramatic depth and the rarity of its color.
Volga Blue is quarried in Ukraine, sourced from a single region whose geology produces the stone’s signature deep blue base and intense crystal flash. The blue is unlike any granite from Indian, Brazilian, or African quarries — it is a true blue rather than the grey-blues or violet-blues found elsewhere. Each slab’s pattern of crystal flash is genuinely unique; the size, density, and distribution of the labradorite crystals vary block to block. We supply Volga Blue through our import network from the original Ukrainian quarries.
Volga Blue performs at the premium end of architectural and design specifications. It is used for kitchen countertops and bathroom vanities where its color depth becomes a statement piece, for fireplace surrounds and feature walls in luxury residential interiors, and for lobby floors, reception desks, and bar tops in commercial and hospitality projects. Its hardness and weather resistance also make it suitable for facade cladding and monumental installations.
We supply Volga Blue Granite in polished, honed, leathered, flamed, and brushed finishes. The polished finish maximizes the labradorescent crystal flash and is the most popular specification for indoor use. The honed finish softens reflectivity for a more contemporary, matte reading while preserving the blue shimmer. Leathered and brushed finishes add tactile dimension. Flamed is available for slip-resistant exterior installations.
Available as raw blocks for slab production and as finished slabs in standard thicknesses of 15mm, 18mm, 20mm, and 30mm. Custom thicknesses available on request. Slab sizes typically range from 260 x 160 cm upward. Cut-to-size tiles, countertops, and bespoke formats are produced to project specification.
