Emerald Pearl Granite is a classic Norwegian larvikite distinguished by its deep charcoal-to-black base and vivid blue-green crystal flashes that catch and refract light from every angle. The shimmer effect comes from labradorite feldspar crystals embedded in the stone — a natural optical phenomenon known as labradorescence. It is one of the most recognizable and prestigious natural stones in global architecture, used in everything from luxury kitchen countertops to landmark facade installations.
Emerald Pearl is quarried in the Larvik region of southern Norway, where the geological conditions produce its signature blue-green crystal flash. Unlike granites from other origins, Emerald Pearl is technically a larvikite — a feldspar-rich igneous rock that is harder, denser, and more visually animated than typical granites. Each slab’s pattern of crystal flash is unique; light angle, polish quality, and viewing distance all change how the surface reads. We supply it through our import network from the original Norwegian quarries.
