Emerald Pearl Granite

Emerald Pearl Granite is a classic Norwegian larvikite distinguished by its deep charcoal-to-black base and vivid blue-green crystal flashes that catch and refract light from every angle. The shimmer effect comes from labradorite feldspar crystals embedded in the stone — a natural optical phenomenon known as labradorescence. It is one of the most recognizable and prestigious natural stones in global architecture, used in everything from luxury kitchen countertops to landmark facade installations.

Origin & What Makes It Unique

Emerald Pearl is quarried in the Larvik region of southern Norway, where the geological conditions produce its signature blue-green crystal flash. Unlike granites from other origins, Emerald Pearl is technically a larvikite — a feldspar-rich igneous rock that is harder, denser, and more visually animated than typical granites. Each slab’s pattern of crystal flash is unique; light angle, polish quality, and viewing distance all change how the surface reads. We supply it through our import network from the original Norwegian quarries.

Applications of Emerald Pearl Granite

Emerald Pearl performs at the premium end of both interior and exterior applications. Architects specify it for kitchen countertops, bathroom vanities, fireplace surrounds, and feature walls in residential projects, and for lobby floors, reception desks, elevator surrounds, and facade cladding in commercial work. Its hardness and weather resistance make it equally suited to monuments, memorial installations, and exterior paving in cold climates.

Available Finishes

We supply Emerald Pearl Granite in polished, honed, leathered, flamed, and brushed finishes. The polished finish maximizes the labradorescent crystal flash and is the most popular specification. The honed finish softens reflectivity for a more contemporary matte reading while preserving the blue-green shimmer. Leathered and brushed finishes add tactile dimension. Flamed is available for slip-resistant exterior installations.

Formats & Thickness

Available as raw blocks for slab production and as finished slabs in standard thicknesses of 15mm, 18mm, 20mm, and 30mm. Custom thicknesses available on request. Slab sizes typically range from 260 x 160 cm upward. Cut-to-size tiles, countertops, and bespoke formats are produced to project specification.

Export & Packaging

Stone Harbor exports Emerald Pearl Granite worldwide in standard export-grade wooden bundles and sea-worthy crates. Slabs are edge-protected and strapped against marine movement. We handle full container loads (FCL) as well as LCL shipments and coordinate documentation, inspection, and port logistics from Mundra, Kandla, and JNPT ports.
