L. Grey Sandstone — sourced from the Lalitpur region of Uttar Pradesh in northern India — brings a distinctly different geological heritage to Stone Harbor’s sandstone range. Where most of our sandstones originate in Rajasthan, Lalitpur Grey comes from a different quarry belt with a grey palette that is cooler, more blue-grey than the silver-warm tones of Kandla Grey, and with a character that suits contemporary architectural and landscape applications particularly well.
Lalitpur Grey’s clean cool tone, durability, and frost resistance have made it a popular export material for European and Australian markets. Stone Harbor processes and exports it to the same quality standards applied across our full sandstone range.
L. Grey Sandstone (Lalitpur Grey) is a sedimentary stone quarried in the Lalitpur district of Uttar Pradesh, India. Its cool grey colouration results from the quartz-dominant mineral composition with trace grey-toned minerals. The stone has a fine to medium grain with good structural integrity and frost-resistance properties.
