Calcatta D Oro Quartzite is a metamorphic stone formed from silica-rich sandstone that has undergone intense heat and pressure, recrystallising into a dense interlocking quartz structure. Its refined white to beige-grey base is produced by high-purity quartz content, while the characteristic golden veining — which gives the stone its D’Oro (“of gold”) designation — results from iron oxide and other secondary minerals infilling natural fracture systems within the quartz matrix. The result is a stone that combines the visual warmth and elegance of Italian Calacatta with quartzite’s structural superiority.
