Morwad Marble

Morwad Marble — also known as Morwad White or Milky Coral — is a premium white marble quarried from the village of Morwad in Rajasthan, India. It is one of the most distinctively characterised white stones in the Indian marble range: its base is a clean, high-luster milky white, but what sets it apart is the presence of natural green and grey mineral inclusions that drift through the surface like brushstrokes, giving it a warmth and organic quality that pure white marbles lack. The result is a stone that reads as white at scale but reveals considerable natural depth and complexity up close.

At Stone Harbor, we source Morwad Marble directly from the Rajasthan quarry region and export in tile, slab, and block form to clients across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific. The stone is available in standard and custom dimensions for both residential and commercial applications.

Origin & Composition

Morwad Marble is a metamorphic stone quarried from the village of Morwad in Rajasthan — a quarrying centre well established within India’s broader Kishangarh-Rajsamand marble belt. The stone’s milky white base is produced by a high-purity calcite matrix, while the characteristic green and grey inclusions result from serpentine, chlorite, and other secondary mineral deposits introduced through the stone’s natural vein systems. Its high natural luster and low porosity make it one of the better-performing white marbles from the region for interior applications requiring a sustained polish over time.

Technical Properties

  • Stone Type: Metamorphic marble
  • Origin: Morwad village, Rajasthan, India
  • Colour: Milky white base with natural green and grey mineral inclusions
  • Hardness: 3 – 4 on the Mohs scale
  • Porosity: Low

  • Natural Luster: High — takes an excellent, sustained polish
  • Weather Resistance: Good for interior applications; periodic sealing recommended for high-use areas
  • Chemical Treatment: Not required under standard conditions

Available Finishes

  • Polished: The standard finish for Morwad — the high natural luster of the stone produces a bright, sustained mirror-like surface that enhances both the white base and the green inclusions.
  • Honed: Smooth matte surface that softens the stone’s appearance without diminishing its character. Preferred in spa, bathroom, and contemporary minimalist settings.
  • Aged/Antique: Surface treatment that adds a weathered, layered quality well-suited to heritage-style interiors.
