Pink Marble from Rajasthan occupies a distinctive position in the Indian marble range — it offers the elegance and polish responsiveness of premium white marble, but with a warm, rose-tinted base that brings an entirely different quality to interior spaces. Soft, feminine, and inherently luxurious, it has been used in palaces, temples, and high-end residences across the subcontinent for centuries, and its contemporary relevance has only grown as designers seek natural stones that move beyond conventional grey and white palettes.
At Stone Harbor, we source Pink Marble from the Makrana-Rajsamand belt of Rajasthan — the same quarry region responsible for some of India’s most celebrated white marbles — and export in tile, slab, and block form to clients across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific.
Origin & Composition
Pink Marble is a metamorphic stone quarried from the Makrana and Udaipur regions of Rajasthan — one of India’s most prolific marble-producing areas. The stone’s characteristic pink colouration results from iron oxide and manganese impurities distributed through the calcite matrix during the metamorphic process. Tonal variation is natural and expected: some slabs carry a soft, blush-pink hue with minimal veining, while others display more pronounced pink tones with subtle grey or white veining patterns. This natural variation is inherent to the stone and contributes to the individuality of every installation.
