Rainforest Green Marble is one of the most internationally recognised natural stones produced in India. Its deep, earthy green base threaded with dramatic dark brown and white veining — a pattern that genuinely evokes the interlocking root systems of a dense tropical forest — has made it a staple of luxury interior design projects from the United States to Europe, the Middle East, and Australia. No synthetic or manufactured surface replicates this organic complexity. Each slab is a unique geological record of millions of years of mineral movement.
At Stone Harbor, we source Rainforest Green Marble from established quarries in Rajasthan, India, and export in tile, slab, and block form to architects, interior designers, developers, and contractors across global markets. It is consistently one of the most enquired-about stones in our marble collection.
Origin & Composition
Rainforest Green Marble is a metamorphic stone quarried primarily in Rajasthan, India. Its deep green base results from serpentine and chlorite mineral content distributed through the calcite-dolomite matrix, while the characteristic dark brown and white branch-like veining is formed by iron-rich secondary mineral deposits filling the stone’s natural fracture networks. The combination of these two geological processes — the primary metamorphism that created the green base and the secondary mineralisation that formed the veining — is what produces the stone’s unmistakable forest-canopy appearance. No two slabs are identical in their veining distribution.
